SKI TRIP CANADA 2014

Escapando el finde went for a ski trip with family and friends the last week of March 2014.

With Juli, Rafa, Zurdo and Jose escapando el finde went for 6 days of ski to 3 ski resort in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Some of my friend came from Spain just for this amazing ski trip in the Rockies.

2 days at Lake Louise
3 days at Revelstoke 
1 day at Kicking Horse

Really crazy and fantastic resorts, but Revelstoke and Kicking Horse are insane.

Commenwealth Peak

Escapando el finde was again in Kananaskis Country but this time close to  Commenwealth Peak  because reaching that peak with skis would be a great challenge.

In a nice day, escapando el finde, with Nia and Daan went for a backcountry funny day. Lots of good moments and some good turns in nice gullies with steep terrain and some other trough the forest.

To get to Commenwealth Peak you need to drive from Canmore to the south in the Smith Dorrien trail for about 45 minutes.

You can see the track of the day and definitely if I go back again I will do the same, maybe one of the chutes. TRACK

Black Prince, Kananaskis Country

Escapando el finde was last Saturday to Kananaskis Country, in a beautiful and warm backcountry day. Black Prince is one of the most famous places to do some steep backcountry terrain.

Escapando el finde went with Brent, Nia and Rob to Black Prince, from the parking area is pretty easy to get to the ski terrain but in some points is steep and hard. This past weekend the avalanche risk was pretty high, we saw a few avalanches in the area, we trigger one size 2 without consequences. Remember before going out there you might check the website www.avalanche.ca and carry all the avalanche gear with you.
