Jewell Pass, mountain bike, Kananaskis Country

Escapando el finde went last Wednesday after work for a nice ride in Kananaskis Country.

This time escapando el finde was with Nia and Rob, two good friends and really crazy riders that make me push further. We went to Kananaskis country to do Jewell Pass, a famous ride in the past and not to crowded nowadays. Really easy climb , mellow and choppy with a few steep sections but with an amazing and fun downhill way.

Perfect day and perfect timing with a nice storm coming up to the end of our nice ride afternoon.

The Wedge Mountain, Kananaskis

Escapando el finde went for a challenging hike in Kananaskis Countray, THE WEDGE MOUNTAIN.

With Stefano we went last Thursday to reach the peak of The Wedge Mountain and as a plus we rich the McKey Mountain just to the a loop hike instead of up and down the same trail.

This hike is challenging because you gain 1200 meters from the Wedge pond parking, where the hike begins, and then is a 200 meters of scramble from the bottom of the peak. The trail from the pond is marked and steep. After reaching the peak we decided to go to another peak McKey just east from The Wedge and pretty easy. From there to the parking lodge there is not a trail so you will need to find your way back and this is an adventure.

Nice views from the top and the valleys from the  mountain pass between both peaks.
